Southern Flora grows and sells wildflower plants, mainly local species, suited to the south west soils and climate.
The focus is on small to medium shrubs with attractive flowers and/ or foliage for the home garden, landscaping and for bush restoration.
I also grow species that are unusual and not often found in other nurseries.
I also operate wild flower and bird tours in the south west.
I developed a love of nature while growing up on a farm near Bridgetown, surrounded by jarrah forest. My university studies in botany and ecology led to a deeper understanding of plants and natural ecological processes.
Later, after completing a Honours degree in Environmental Science and a PhD in Botany, I started a career in conservation biology working in various research and management roles over 15 years in the south-west to conserve threatened flora and fauna and their habitats.
