RUSTLERS BERRIES

Named for a snake that "rustled" through the bushes

Rustlers Manjimup was purchased in 2006 and is situated adjacent to the old townsite of Yanmah. The property had been abandoned for a number of years, so it took some time to get it all cleared and ready to plant.

We first planted figs in 2008 and now have just on 5ha of fig orchard. Our figs ripen just as the northern figs are finishing and are available until around the end of May.

The Rustleberries were found on the property and are a cross between Blackberries and the old English Raspberry. A big tiger snake used to live in the berry bushes and would just "rustle" away to the opposite side of the bush whenever we were picking the berries. So we deceided to call our berries "Rustleberries"!
